Vero Beach High School Orchestra


Below you will find information about our orchestras, auditions, and please fill out the information sheet at the bottom. Don't forget to click 'submit.'

Freshman Orchestra: Most students take advantage of this class, which is the next step from Middle School Orchestra. No audition required.

Concert Orchestra: This class offers an opportunity for students to continue advancing their skills. Rising freshman are allowed to audition for placement in either Concert or Philharmonic Orchestra. Audition is required for rising freshman. Details are below.

Philharmonic Orchestra: Our most advanced orchestra class. We study professional level repertoire while refining technique and musicianship. Audition is required. Details are below.

Sinfonia: Small chamber orchestra which meets after school (Thursday afternoon) during the first semester. Audition takes place in August.

Symphony Orchestra: Full orchestra, including wind players from the VBHS Band. Rehearsals take place after school (Thursday afternoon) during the second semester.

All Instruments: Solo of your choice, which best demonstrates your technical and musical abilities.
Violin and String Bass: Two Octave Scales in the keys of D Major and F Major.
Viola and Cello: Two Octave Scales in the keys of G Major and B flat Major.

Please contact the orchestra director to schedule an in-person audition. Audition times will be announced and held in the Orchestra room at VBHS.
