The Vero Beach High School Orchestra consists of students in grades 10-12 on Vero Beach High School’s Main Campus, along with 9th grade students from the Freshmen Learning Center. The vision of the Vero Beach High School Orchestra is to inspire students, school, family, and the community through the music we prepare, perfect, and perform. There are three orchestras at Vero Beach High School: The Concert Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra.
We have received ‘Straight Superior’ ratings by the Florida Orchestra Association at both District and State Assessments, several members have been ’All-State’ musicians, and we provide numerous performances throughout the year for the residents of Vero Beach and Indian River County.
In the 2008-2009 school year already, performances include works such as Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony and Coriolan Overture, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, among many others. Students in the Vero Beach High School Orchestra work to master technique and musicianship through practice, rehearsal, performance and service, all the while absorbing the history and theory of the music studied.

Great advice and resource for a potential future college audition. It’s never too early to think about this. |
